So I get up at 5:30 a.m. (too early) to drive to Port Orchard (too rainy) to meet some guys I was going to run with. But I couldn't find them (too dark? I'm too stupid?) at where I thought we were meeting and I didn't really feel like running around in the pitch dark in a unfamiliar area, so I drove home. The rain stopped then, which was the one benefit of a frustrating early wake-up. So I combined the Illahee State Park loop with the YMCA loop for 8 miles. I thought it'd be a little longer, but there's more overlap than I planned. It's a good run though, real hilly so there's a strength aspect to it. Nothing fast, but I wasn't slacking either. Now if I could just find the secret Saturday morning meeting spot.

Let's blame it on the dark, eh?

Illahee state park loop- sounds like a nice, outdoorsy run.

I'm glad to see you running more consistently. I don't know if you're anything like Paul, but if you are you were probably driving your friends and co-workers crazy when you were running regularly. Keep up the good work.

You kicked my butt on miles this week, good job! You are the smartest stupid guy I know. Well, Jon is pretty close!:-)

From Jon on Sat, Dec 15, 2007 at 21:41:48

What does that mean?

From James on Sat, Dec 15, 2007 at 21:56:13

Exactly that. I am just a stupid stupid guy so my excuses are better. You and Dave are too brainy to do stupid things like I do, but you do anyways.

From David on Sun, Dec 16, 2007 at 18:19:16

Exactly. I probably overthought it. I should have just parked the car randomly and started running in a direction. That would have been the stupid-stupid thing (I wouldn't have hit a cow pen, but maybe I would have fell into the Puget Sound). Still, I wouldn't have felt frustrated afterward.

There you go! Like I said, "brainy"!

Too much thinking for me!
