Running Accomplishments:

I was an 800/1500 runner in high school and college, with PRs of 1:55 and 4:08. I've run as fast as 16:15 for 5k, but most recently ran 17:55 (Sept. '07). I ran a 38-minute 10k in January '08, a 1:23:49 half in September, and a 3:14:49 marathon in October.

Short-Term Running Goals:

My goals are still a sub-1:20 half-marathon; 36-minute 10k; and sub-3 hour marathon, but those are for 2009. For the next few months I want to retain some fitness, average 25-30 miles/week in the winter, and enjoy a few short local races.

Personal:

I'm an editor at a newspaper in Bremerton, Washington and run with the Port Orchard Slugs running club.

Treadmill run at the Y, it stays dark for awhile here in the a.m. and it's harder to get motivated for that, so I'm probably looking at a few more months inside. It's hard to get a pace going for the first mile on that machine for some reason, but once I get locked in (and watching NBA highlights) it isn't too bad. Did an 8-minute mile or so and then a few more at 7:41. Legs feel alright on there so far, so it's an alright start to the week. Just under 32 minutes.
